Top 10 Strangest eBay Items Ever Sold on eBay

eBay can be a very odd place, given that you can sell almost anything you want. Here are the auctions we've picked as being the strangest ever.

#10 - Girlfriends: Some girls auctioned their services as 'imaginary girlfriends', who would send the winning bidder pictures of themselves and loving letters, which they could use to pretend they had a girlfriend.

#9 - Wedding dress: Nothing strange about selling a wedding dress, you might think - but this was the guy's ex-wife's wedding dress. And he modelled it, as well as writing a long screed about his ex-wife in the description.

#8 - TV part: Producers on the TV show Ally McBeal once used eBay to auction off a walk-on part on the show.

#7 - Kidney: One man tried to sell his kidney on eBay - after all, you only need one, right? Unfortunately it's illegal to buy or sell human organs. Good thinking, though.

#6 - Toenail clippings: A girl once sold her toenail clippings on eBay, one clipping from each toe. She got a $1 for the set - a low price for the years of joy they no doubt provided to the buyer.

#5 - Britney's gum: Someone picked up Britney Spears' chewed gum at a London hotel and decided it'd be a great thing to sell on eBay. Oddly enough, they were right - they got $263 for it. A Britney fan probably has it framed in their house.

#4 - Ghost: Yes, a ghost. In a jar. Well, why not? The ghost was, apparently, 'terrorising' the man who owned it, and so he decided to capture it and sell it on eBay to someone who might be able to give it a better home.

#3 - Virgin Mary sandwich: A seller offered a grilled cheese sandwich upon which the Virgin Mary had appeared to her - and the strange thing is, she genuinely seemed to believe it. This item, unbelievably, sold for $28,000. Some people just have too much money to waste, don't they?

#2 - Virginity: An 18-year-old British girl sold her virginity on eBay - but it was bought by a businessman who kindly agreed to give her the money without actually taking the 'service'.

And at #1 - Fighter jet: A state brokerage in Virginia sold a U.S. Navy F/A-18A Hornet jet fighter on eBay for just over a million dollars. It was, unfortunately, in pieces and so unusable, but they offered to put it back together and make it ready to fly for the low, low price of just another $9 million.

One of my exes auctioned a chip (french fry), he believed it to be the worlds longest and tried to sell it as such, that is until someone came forward and said it was NOT the worlds largest there was already a record breaking entry that exceeded it. So there you are, that's pretty strange eh!! fun article.

When the XBox game console first appeared on the market, they were selling on ebay like crazy. One man, without posting any photo, sold a box with an "X" on it for nearly $2500. The product, as shown on ebay, was titled "X box." Since the seller used a space in between the syllables, and of course provided no picture of the product, it was perfectly legal.

It's not perfectly legal, and no way that would actually hold up in a court of law.

p.s. - I know someone who tried to run that scam ... not a friend of mine, btw.

IMPORTANT PEOPLE! Please read all of this.

Listen if this is the only way this girl can get through graduate school then “hey” do what you have to do. But selling your virginity because you don’t want to work! The average American will undergo suffering of racketeer college tuition through dedication and self-discipline. Through loans and scholarship will one truly accomplish success. In that case I question her credentials as a human. Simply unmoral.

Virginity is presumed be sacred and given away at marriage when you find your soul mate. Yeah, this is the twenty first century; therefore the vast majority of people gave it up to their high school sweetheart or at a college frat party!!!

Also, I feel sorry for the incompetent “SOB” that will compensate for this false claim of virginity. Do you actually believe that this female is still a virgin! Trust me, if she had kept her virginity till this day then it essentially would have meant more for her then money.

Lastly, I want to claim that I am not interested in purchasing sex; I am a decent man, who would rather affiliate myself with a pleasant relationship. However please notify me when Natalie Dylan decides to sell her soul, I bet a lot of controversy and immense amounts of money would spark from that condition. Matter of fact, I would like to start the bidding at One Dollar $1.

While this was certainly not "IMPORTANT," I did actually did manage to choke down my gag reflex long enough for me to "read all of this" and I was left with a few questions. First of all, why do you feel this is a good place for you to vomit fourth your opinions? "Simply unmoral?" I assume you mean "immoral," and even if it is, so what? I saw no invitation for Mr. A Gambino of Southern, New Jersey to tell us his thoughts. This is a humor page, not an opportunity for holier-then-thou assholes to get all preachy. Second of all, how you know this person did this because she did not want to work? It actually seems like a smart fiscal move to me, considering the current bid is up to $3.8 million and she just signed a potentially lucrative book deal. I sure wish someone would be willing to pay that much for the right to sexually peruse ME for a night. And "through loans and scholarship will one truly accomplish success?" Really? Is success judged by debt and handouts now? Interesting... I guess the financial industry is BOOMING. Finally, no one cares whether or not you would pay for sex. I find it interesting, however, that while you refer to someone who would bid on virginity as an "incompetent 'SOB,'" (two completely unrelated and irrelevant insults) you state that you would be willing to purchase someone's soul. Now, Ms. Dylan is going to undergo a gynecological exam and polygraph test to prove the existence of her virginity. As far as I know, there is no examination that is capable of determining the existence of a soul. So basically, the highest bidder is going to get laid, Ms. Dylan is going to get $3.8 million and a book deal, and you are going to get an empty patch of air? You know, it really doesn't seem like you're coming out on top here... Enjoy! PS: A note to the SearchWarp admins: If you are going to delete this post, kindly delete the above one as well because, while not half as mean-spirited, it is every bit as irrelevant. You really shouldn't though. Everyone loves feeding the trolls!
